Core Beliefs
We are a BIBLE-BASED Family Church and the core beliefs of Anchored | San Antonio Community Church based on the foundational truths taught in the entire bible(original manuscript). All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines always leading with Love.( 2 Timothy 3:16-17 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.)
God
There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. (Deuteronomy 6:4-9 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.)
Revelation
God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ (whom we follow as the LIFE model), who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself. (1 John 4 :17 By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world.)
Mankind
Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations. (Genesis 1:27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” once a refugee fleeing to Egypt. Isaiah 45:12 - "It is I who made the earth and created mankind on it. My own hands stretched out the heavens; I marshaled their starry hosts.")
The Fall
When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time. (Genesis 3:19. The Fall of Adam Introduced Two Kinds of Death into the World. “Because of Adam's transgression, a spiritual death—banishment from the presence of the Lord—as well as the temporal death, were pronounced upon him.)
Salvation
Jesus Christ is the only name in which the redemptive saving power of blood-bought sacrifice can save. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can only be found in Christ alone. (Romans 10:9-11 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10:13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Philippians 2:12 “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.")
The Church
The Church is not just a building or an institution, but a community of believers united in faith and love. It is through humility, patience, and love that we can grow spiritually and maintain this unity. Each one of us has a unique role to play and a gift to contribute to the body of Christ. By living righteously and imitating Christ, we can make a positive impact on the world around us. Let us strive to be a shining example of unity, maturity, and love in our Christian community.(Ephesians Chapter 4 in its Entirety)
Rapture & Resurrection
The Christian belief in the Rapture and Resurrection of Jesus Christ is based on the teachings of the Bible. Let's explore this topic further!
The Rapture refers to the event when Jesus Christ will come back to gather His followers, both the living and the dead, to be with Him in heaven. This belief is based on passages such as 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, which states, "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air."
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is a core belief of the Christian faith. It refers to His miraculous return to life three days after His crucifixion. The Resurrection is described in multiple passages, including Matthew 28:6, where an angel tells the women at the empty tomb, "He is not here; he has risen, just as he said."
The belief in the Rapture and Resurrection is of great importance to Christians. It affirms their hope in eternal life and the promise of being reunited with Jesus Christ. It also serves as a reminder of His victory over sin and death, providing comfort and reassurance to believers.
For Christians, the Rapture and Resurrection are not just theological concepts, but a source of hope and inspiration. They encourage believers to live with purpose, knowing that their ultimate destiny lies in the loving presence of their Savior.
Let us hold onto this hope and eagerly wait for the glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ!
