It began with the painful experiences of domestic violence, the wounds inflicted by both people and church leaders, and the profound loss of a father figure who was a pastor. These trials left me in a state of spiritual introspection, seeking answers and healing.
In my quest for solace, I embarked on a journey of rediscovery, immersing myself in the pages of the Bible and engaging in heartfelt conversations with the author Himself, Jesus Christ. As I sat with Him, flipping through the sacred text, I realized that my turmoil was not caused by external storms or shaky ships, but by the absence of an anchor. I had knowledge and accomplishments, but lacked a firm foundation.

Guided by the voice of the Lord, I was urged to reopen a church, a sanctuary where people could find refuge and acceptance without judgment. San Antonio, Texas, became the chosen location, a city in need of a genuine community church that would embrace all with open arms.
With the support of my now wife, we embarked on the journey of establishing Anchor Assembly. We registered with the state, outlining our vision and meticulously crafting a plan. The Lord's voice echoed in my heart, emphasizing the importance of creating a safe house, a place where transformation could take place. He reminded me to respect the chrysalis, for we never know when and where people will emerge as beautiful butterflies.
